Rain Showers and Racecars
The month of May has been a wet and wild one so far. Hopefully Memorial Day weekend will provide some sunshine and excitement!!
Kyle has dropped to 3rd in the Auto City standings, after a couple of sub-par races. On May 6th, Kyle was running toward the front when he and another car got together, bringing out the yellow flag. Kyle admitted his fault and was a good sportsman and went to the rear of the field, giving the other car his spot back. Kyle was able to pick his way back from 19th spot to finish 8th.
Kyle had a good car on Saturday, May 20th. He qualified 5th at a 15.26, and the fast time was a 15.21!!! He was slated to start 4th in the feature race before the rain came and washed the away the rest of the evenings events. Kyle will be running next weekend at Auto City on Saturday night. He may also be in action on Friday night at Dixie and/or Sunday at Spartan for the Street Stock Slugfest Round 1.
“Fast” Eddie Hayden made his season debut in the factory stock class at Auto City on May 20th. He was shaking the car down, and should be a threat in the coming weeks in the white #6x Camaro.
The 2005 Thunder Truck track champion Johnny Hayden is also getting close with his Monte Carlo. You can look for him in the coming weeks at Auto City and Dixie.
Curtis will make his long-awaited debut in the factory stock class, probably on autograph night at Auto City on June 2nd. Curtis will have a steep learning curve ahead of him, but you can expect that he will be running toward the front before the season comes to a close.
When Curtis makes his debut, that will make 8 Hayden’s who have taken racing laps at Auto City Speedway over the last 40 years.
See ya at the track!!!
